Each
morning I read my wife, Micheline, a chapter or two of Requiem for a Redneck and this
morning we finished Preacher. I just wanted to tell you again how much I
appreciate your talent. The book is extremely well done. I read it with
envy. I am particularly impressed at how successful you are in doing
chapters which can stand alone yet are successfully woven into a complete
story. Congratulations. Keep telling stories.
--Bob Hicks,
I just wish to tell you
how much I enjoyed your book, John! You and Dekie have done a great job with
it.
I took it to bed with me
last night and read the entire book! As you know, I was born in the little
railroad community of Berwin. Both my Couey and Sanders grandparents live in
that area around Bells Ferry etc. My great uncle Deo Johnston owned and
operated the ferry for the greater part of his life. In reading your book, I
could almost identify your "good ole boy" characters.
I had a friend pick up
three copies of the books for me today. Tell John he got them at the liquor
store! He is a Baptist minister and got a kick out of that.
--Bernice Couey Anderson,
John, I
just finished reading your book and really enjoyed it! I highly recommend
it to anyone who wants to read one that you can't put down 'till it is
finished. Great stories. Have a Merry Christmas and let me know about
any future projects.
--Gary Loftin,
The
more I think about it, I feel your book addresses society's need to be
more accepting of people who have their own genre.
--Hilda Atkins Moore,
Received the
book from John and loving every word. I feel like I am sitting across the
table and listening to him. Mic is biting at the bit to start it but I
have been hogging it. Just one more PM with it and I'll be finished.
--Mary Ann McDonald,
John, just finished your
book... you can write. You have a remarkable talent. Please have
another book in your head.
--Steve Moseley,
Stayed up until 12:30 to
finish your book the other night. That says something. So, it’s a good read. My
favorite scene was the wedding party. It sorta transcended storytelling and
went to somewhere else. This from a visual person. Congrats.
--Tom Schulz, Artist,
You
have done it! I am enjoying your book. Wonderful characterization,
great dialogue, touching scenes that resonate with my own redneck roots.
Can a
Congratulations,
John. You done good.
--Joel Fletcher,
John,
Just wanted you to know I finished reading your book last
night and
enjoyed it very much and expect the recipients of the other copies to enjoy
the story too. My sister's husband, who is getting one of the books, was the
Director of Family and Children's Services in
suspect he can relate quite well to some of the problems in it.
A THUMBS UP for sure.
